About Susan C. Freeman
Since beginning my career in 1995, I’ve worked across financial services, technology, law, energy, healthcare, education, government, and nonprofit organizations. I founded Freeman Means Business in 2010 to help professionals and organizations use communication, storytelling, and leadership development to strengthen relationships, visibility, influence, and growth.
I’ve educated more than 5,000 professionals and designed keynotes, workshops, corporate training, executive education, coaching, and strategic advisory engagements. My experience includes technology sales leadership at State Street; creating Munger U, an in-house attorney-development program at Munger, Tolles & Olson; and leading a 285-page, multimillion-dollar government healthcare proposal.
I’m the author of Own Your Story: Empower. Connect. Create Change. and The Ultimate Women Associates’ Law Firm Marketing Checklist. I founded THINK., a fact-based media-literacy initiative that reached approximately 190,000 people over 2.5 years. I’m a doctoral scholar in Management of Complex Systems at the University of California, where I study how employee experience, organizational conditions, trust, and service quality connect to student success. I’m also a graduate of Emerge California’s Class of 2026, where I completed statewide training in coalition building, public narrative, campaign strategy, and civic engagement.
From 2019 through December 2024, I founded and led Conscious Inclusion Company, focusing on inclusive leadership, employee voice, belonging, and practical workplace culture change.
